The oldest recorded part of the valley, the Passo Tonale dates back to the 8th century and is named after the god Jove, the Thunderer. It is a 35-minute drive from our apartments.
The Passo Tonale is a favourite training ground for cross-country and downhill ski champions. The highlights are the Tonale meadows, which are the perfect starting point for a hike with lift services to the Presena glacier.
- Fort Strino: a restored WWI fort
- Galleria Paradiso: A long tunnel dug in the granite rock during WWI, and used by the soldiers as a shelter. It’s now a museum with some spectacular relics.
