Dimaro

The town of Dimaro is located near the Meledrio Valley between the towns of Folgarida, Madonna di Campiglio and Campo Carlo Magno, Dimaro is one of the towns that boast the most ancient origins of the whole Val di Sole.

The town is made up of many architectural elements, an example above all are the numerous fountains, in Dimaro we also find various types of ancient drinking troughs for animals and many stately homes.

Inside the village we find the Church of San Lorenzo, which was built during the 1400s and has a wonderful Gothic style; the Church houses numerous works of art, among which we recall the numerous frescoes attributed to Giovanni Baschenis, of particular interest are the internal elements, built in red, white and granite marble, the main altar instead was made of wood.

The country’s economy is based almost exclusively on tourism; in fact, numerous ski lifts and ski slopes have been built in the area; the villages of Carciato and Folgarida are also part of the municipality.
